After shopping for 10+ belts............

This one done the job magnificently. I have spent over 100 on approx. 6 or seven belts over the past two years in the likes of Debenhams, Tk Maxx to name but a few to replace my aging 15 year old belt which was due to snap anytime soon. I thought, take the plunge on Amazon for a belt as the others were poor quality and kept breaking. I really didn't think I was going to get a belt as strong and durable as my trusty old leather belt but boy was I wrong!

This belt is AMAZING! it's tough, strong, made extremley well, excellent quality, smells lovley, perfect fit and comes in it's own little resentation bag. It's well worth the money if you are in the market for a belt. Dont hesitate on this one, you wont be disapointed.

Good belt but there's a couple of issues

The belt itself is pretty good. It's made from non-bonded leather and appears sturdy and strong. The buckle is well constructed and attached. The belt length is more than adequate; in fact, we are so used to buying undersized clothing and accessories from Chinese origin that we should really have gone for the size lower.

So, two things here. Firstly is that the leather looks pretty dry and we have applied a good coating of leather food to prevent cracking. I'd recommend this step for any leather belts in any case but I think this belt really does benefit from it to begin with (and top up leather conditioning periodically as you would for any working leather).

More importantly though, is not to rely on the hole punch which comes with the belt. It seemed study and able to deal with punching the one extra hole required, but it broke as soon as my husband tried to use it. Luckily I own a leather hole puncher but otherwise it would cost up to 20 from Amazon to get a decent leather hole puncher for the job. That would be an annoying and unwelcome extra expense! Given that leather stretches, I'm sure that the additional hole punch is a welcome addition for many, but it needs to be better quality to have the force needed on these leather belts. Or at least, my husband's leather belt!

It's really not a bad belt and I'd recommend it.. but be aware of those two issues or it could cost you a bottle of leather food and a leather hole punch as well!

Good traditional style belt

This belt is pretty much as described. Thick but soft leather and a substantial buckle. I didn't go for the auto buckle, which was an alternative. I had to shorten the belt, but as I am barely a 30" waist that was not a surprise. Easy to do and it looks fine. You cut off a length of the belt at the buckle end and just have to make one new hole with a punch where it fits into the buckle i.e. you don't have to cut the end where you do it up, which would look messy. They supply a punch but you need a hammer and suitable surface. There was also a spare screw fixing for where it goes in the buckle and a cloth bag for the belt, which is a nice touch. There are seven oval adjustment holes in the belt at good spacings so depending on your waist size you may well not have to alter the length at all. A good belt for casual use and I am hopeful it will last a long time.

My best belt yet

After looking in stores such as M&S for a new belt, I couldn't find one that I liked, they were to thin, felt like plastic and cost 25 each, so I decided to look on Amazon and came across this belt which had a lot of great reviews and took a punt.

I have a 36" waist (measured not vanity) and I went with the 30-39" black option. First impressions were I was suprised how small the packaging was, I was worried this belt might be too small, but it turns out it was just rolled up nice and small, upon opening the various contains and the bag the first thing you notice is the small, a strong smell of nail polish, I don't know if this is a good thing or not, probably some sort of coating, but upon feeling the belt, it feels so soft and smooth but sturdy.

I didn't know belts could feel this soft, feels like silk in the hand. The belt was 2" too long for me so I shorted it which was very easy, just unscrew the buckle, chop a bit off and then screw the buckle back on.

I strongly recommend this and I'll definitely be buying another in the future.

Really pleased with this. It's the first clothing item I've ever bought from Amazon and the reviews for this seemed reliable so I thought it was worth a pop.

It's a genuine leather belt that comes with a handy punch should you need to shorten the belt.

For me this fitted right out the box, it's lovely and soft and exactly what I expected.
I will update this review with a life expectancy when and if it ever breaks.

NOTE: the punch is not for making new clasp holes, you will notice the clasp holes are oval shaped and the punch is circular, this is intentional.
If you need to shorten the belt then you need to take length off the end with the buckle.

To shorten your belt:
remove the stud with a screwdriver, the buckle is stitched to separate piece of leather which will now come away.
Trim the desired length off this end of the belt.
Put the leather with the buckle back on the now shortened belt, and mark where the punch hole needs to be.
Punch the hole with the leather punch provided.
reassemble the belt, (do not forget the belt loop)
secure the belt with the stud. Do not overtighten.

This is a high quality leather belt. It comes with instructions on how to shorten it: unlike some reviewers I had no difficulty in doing this. The only danger is if you cut too much off the you will have a belt that is too small: so be careful. It is easily cut with a pair of scissors'

Lovely product, Well made and Strong. Accurately described in advertisement and delivered within expected time. The only odd thing about this is the belt has oval buckle holes and supplied with the belt is a hole punch to make additional buckle holes if required but this is much smaller than the holes already punched and it is round not oval. This though is a very minor thin as I did not expect it to be supplied as part of the deal. I Would definitely use this supplier again.
