From the manufacturer
The North Face Heritage
Doug Tompkins opens a high-end ski and camping gear store in North Beach, San Francisco. He names the store The North Face as in the Northern Hemisphere, the north face of a mountain is generally the coldest, iciest and most challenging route to climb.
Hap Klopp acquires The North Face and starts manufacturing gear under The North Face brand name. The logo inspired by Half Dome in Yosemite is created and is still the one we see on modern day products.
The North Face adopts a new tagline Never Stop Exploring which has become a modern day mantra for explorers around the globe.
The North Face. Behind the Brand
Now, more than 50 years after its humble grand opening, The North Face delivers an extensive line of performance apparel, equipment, and footwear. We remain deeply proud to be the first choice of world class athletes and outdoor experts. In the next 50 years, The North Face will maintain its commitment to pushing the limits of design and innovation, so that you can push your limits outdoors. Never Stop Exploring.

I would say in line with other reviewers that they run larger than normal, as I am usually a small and it is slightly baggy. Also the cotton feels thin and not of great quality.
I would also say that the neck appears to be of poor fit and quality. It looks like after several washes it is going to get more stretched, but time will tell.
I tried on a few small t-shirts in the North Face shop (not the Dome) and they appeared to be of far superior quality and fit.
I can only conclude that the Dome t-shirt must be a budget t-shirt made by North Face and I wouldn't recommend them even if they are 15.
It reminded me of one of those snide shirts you buy abroad. Alright for work but not what I wanted.
Should of realised too good to be true
For those questioning if product is fake because it's "Not like my other north face t shirts". First different styles use different weights of fabric...even by same manufacturer and definitely by same brand. Second, check your care label, there'll be another label with a small north face hologram next to it. It's a genuine product.
